Anderson started in Indianapolis’ 26-23 loss against Carolina, finishing with three tackles. Pro Football Focus currently ranks Anderson as the third-best rookie in the NFL.

Johnson Bademosi • DB • Cleveland Browns • 4th season • @j_bademosi24

Bademosi had an eventful Sunday as Cleveland lost 34-20 to Arizona. He was on the field for 53 percent of defensive snaps and 81 percent of special teams plays, making four tackles and a special teams tackle. The former Cardinal also recovered a fumble in the third quarter.

Seattle’s second-leading receiver had a solid game against Dallas in a 13-12 win. He was targeted six times by Russell Wilson, hauling in three catches for 35 yards.

David DeCastro • G • Pittsburgh Steelers • 4th season 

The former All-American at Stanford has been one of Pittsburgh’s best performers in a season which has included Pro Bowlers Ben Roethlisberger and LeVeon Bell suffering through injury problems. The offensive guard helped the Steelers rush for 116 yards on 19 carries in a 16-10 loss against Cincinnati, and was the team’s second highest-rated player (+3.0) per Pro Football Focus.

Dray was on the field for 41 percent of offensive snaps in Cleveland’s 34-20 loss against Arizona on Sunday. He was targeted twice but finished the day with no catches.

Coby Fleener • TE • Indianapolis Colts • 4th season • @Coby

Fleener led Indianapolis’ receivers in targets (11) and receptions (7) while hauling in a crucial touchdown in the fourth quarter to cut Carolina’s lead to three. After Monday night’s loss against the Panthers, he is third on the team in receptions and fourth in targets.

For the second-consecutive game, Fleming played every one of New England’s offensive snaps. The Patriots improved to 7-0 after a 36-7 win against Miami on Thursday night, with Fleming seeing a lot of Cameron Wake and Ndamukong Suh in the process.

Andrew Luck • QB • Indianapolis Colts • 4th season 

The former number one overall pick struggled against Carolina, but helped Indianapolis overcome a 17-point fourth quarter deficit and push the game to overtime. Luck finished the night 23 of 47 for 231 yards with two touchdowns, one to Coby Fleener, two interceptions and six carries for 35 yards.

Mauro came off the bench to make two tackles in Arizona’s 34-20 win at Cleveland on Sunday. The Cardinals sit atop the NFC West with a 6-2 record, 1.5 games ahead the St. Louis Rams.

Richards continues to fill the role of nickel safety for New England, which has grown accustomed to protecting leads in the second half. In the 36-7 win against Miami on Thursday night, Richards made two tackles in the second half to help preserve the Patriots’ 7-0 record.

Richard Sherman • CB • Seattle Seahawks • 5th season • @RSherman_25

Sherman was in All-Pro form in Sunday’s hard-fought 13-12 win at Dallas. The Cowboys’ superstar wideout Dez Bryant saw a steady dose of Sherman from the onset, being shadowed around the field by the former Cardinal for each of his 48 snaps. Bryant was targeted six times, but was limited to two catches for 16 yards and just one reception for positive yardage. Sherman’s role in the Seattle defense has expanded this season, and he has responded in outstanding fashion, adding four more passes defended on Sunday as well.

Since Lou Anarumo was promoted from defensive backs coach to defensive coordinator, Thomas’ involvement and productivity have increased. He started his third straight game Thursday night against New England, making five tackles and a special teams stop in a 36-7 loss.

Toilolo started in Atlanta’s 23-20 loss against Tampa Bay on Sunday. He was featured on 42 percent of the Falcon’s offensive plays, mainly serving as a run-blocker. He finished the day with one catch for seven yards.

Whalen was only on the field for 10 offensive plays in Indianapolis’ 26-23 overtime loss at Carolina, but he made them count. He had five catches for 48 yards, including three on the Colts’ game-tying drive to send the game to overtime.

Players on Injured Reserve

The third-round pick sustained an ankle injury in training camp and will be sidelined through at least the first half of the 2015 season. 

Tyler Gaffney • RB • New England Patriots • 2nd season 

A former sixth-round pick, Gaffney was injured in the first week of Patriots training camp. After clearing waivers, the Patriots placed him on their short-term injury reserve list. 

Players on NFL Practice Squads

Ed Reynolds • S • Philadelphia Eagles • 1st season 

Reynolds spent last season on the Philadelphia practice squad. During the 2015 preseason, Reynolds had 13 tackles and two interceptions, both against the Colts on Aug. 16. 

David Yankey • OG • Minnesota Vikings • 2nd season • @papa_yank

The former All-American at Stanford was selected in the fifth round of the 2014 NFL Draft by Minnesota.
