The rivalry game at Stanford Stadium gives Bay Area softball fans an opportunity to be part of history, as the program eyes the NCAA softball attendance record of 12,566.

  • Track House Lot at the corner of Galvez Street and Nelson Road, with entry from Nelson Road
  • Galvez Lot across the street from Track Lot, with entry off Galvez Street and Lasuen Street
  • Lot 2, dirt lot along El Camino, with entry directly off of El Camino and Sam MacDonald Road

We’re turning the south concourse of the stadium into a full-on fun zone! Snap a pic in the 360° photo booth, bounce around on inflatables, get decked out by our face painter and balloon artist, and bring your A-game to the batting and speed cages inside Gate 2.

A-Z Big Swing Guide

There are several fun activities for fans to enjoy inside Stanford Stadium before the game swings into action:

  • Kids are invited to join us on the Stanford Stadium field for a special pre-game parade! Participants should meet just inside Gate 1 and Tunnel A and begin lining up near the top of the ramp at 11:30 AM. The parade will end at 12:10 PM.
  • Just inside Gate 2, grab your Big Swing t-shirt while supplies last, and stop by the inflatable batting and speed cages.
  • On the Southside Concourse, you'll find a face painter, a balloon artist, a photobooth, and Stanford softball merchandise sales.
  • Head up to the Southside Upper Concourse for our jumbo bounce house and 360 camera.

Please note that activities and exact locations within Stanford Stadium are subject to change without notice. 

A ticket is required for every fan over 24 months old to enter Stanford Stadium. To purchase tickets to The Big Swing, click here. Stanford students can attend for free by scanning their SUID at the gate.

All seating is general admission in the Lower Bowl (Sections 113–134) and Upper Bowl (Sections 210–239). Fans can enter the seating bowl through Tunnels B, C, and D. Sections that are not in use will be closed off and unavailable for entry, and reserved rows for team staff, Stanford band, and both teams’ passlists will be posted in various sections.

Beer and wine are available for purchase at various locations inside Stanford Stadium, including Sections 105, 108, 113, 140, and the Upper South Side Lawn. All fans should be prepared to show proper identification prior to purchase. 

Outside alcohol is not permitted inside the stadium, and alcohol sold in-venue cannot leave Stanford Stadium.

Stanford Athletics has implemented a Clear Bag Policy for all athletics events. This policy limits the size and types of bags that are permitted inside athletic venues. 

Approved bags include clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC bags that do not exceed 12”x 6”x 12” and small clutch bags or purses no larger than 4.5” x 6.5” (approximately the size of a hand with or without a handle or a strap. Click here to learn more about the Clear Bag Policy. 

A free-of-charge bag check station will be available outside Gate 3 for bags that do not fall within the guidelines.

Full food and beverage concessions are available on the inner concourse at sections 102, 103, 108, 112, and 113. For quick and convenient options, Grab N’ Go stands with prepackaged items will be located at sections 108 and 135. All concessions are cashless; acceptable payment forms include debit/credit cards and digital wallets.

Stanford Athletics is committed to serving its fans by providing a safe and celebratory gameday experience. The Fan Code of Conduct has been established to ensure that fans’ Game Day experience is consistent with that commitment.

Failure to follow this code may result in ejection from the facility, revocation of ticket privileges, and/or arrest. All fans are expected to refrain from the following behavior at all events:

  • Any action that disrupts other guests' enjoyment of the game
  • Engaging in action that causes a disruption or interferes with the game
  • Profanity or other offensive language, whether spoken or appearing on apparel
  • Smoking or use of e-tobacco products
  • Throwing of items or liquids
  • Entering the court or field of play at any time
  • Failure to retain ticket and/or present it to event staff if requested to do so
  • Resale of tickets at the venue
  • Violation of state or local laws
  • Possession of any item listed on the “Prohibited Items” list
  • Use of foul, abusive, obscene, or discriminatory (on the basis of gender, sexual  orientation, gender identification, age, race, national origin, religion, military status, disability status or any other characteristic) language or gestures
  • Fighting, taunting, or threatening remarks or gestures
  • Intoxication or signs of impairment related to alcohol or drug use. Fans that appear to be impaired will not be permitted into the stadium and may be subject to arrest.
  • Failure to follow the directions of law enforcement or stadium management
  • Sitting in a seat other than one's ticketed seat location
  • Smoking and/or tobacco use (including e-cigarettes)

Stanford Athletics reserves the right to determine what constitutes unacceptable behavior. Fans are encouraged to report inappropriate behavior to team/venue personnel by texting the Athletics hotline at 650-200-CARD for immediate response on game day.

The department welcomes fans’ help in its efforts to provide an enjoyable experience for all.

The ticket office will open at 11 AM. Gates 2 and 4 will be open for public entry 90 minutes before first pitch at 11:30 AM. Gate 3 will be designated for free bag checks, and all fans should be prepared to pass through metal detectors before entering the stadium.

A merchandise table will be set up inside Stanford Stadium at Section 106, offering the latest Cardinal softball gear for purchase.

Fans should download their mobile tickets prior to arriving at the event. Tickets stored in your mobile wallet can be easily opened from your device’s home screen on the day of the event and do not require WiFi or cellular service to be accessed. Screenshots will not be accepted for entry.

  • Balls, whole fruits/vegetables (unless cut into small pieces) and other potential projectiles
  • Balloons
  • Banners and/or signs
  • Bicycles, skates, scooters, skateboards, roller blades, and roller shoes
  • Cameras with lenses longer than six inches
  • Clothing that is derogatory, profane, scanty, or offensive
  • Fireworks
  • Hard plastic, glass, ceramic or metal bottles, hydration packs, and soft plastic bottles (need to be sealed or empty) larger than 20 oz.
  • Laser pointers
  • Metal seatbacks (unless ADA compliant)
  • Open containers
  • Open umbrellas
  • Poles, selfie-sticks, monopods and tripods
  • Remote controlled devices of any kind (cars, drones)
  • Seat cushions larger than 18”
  • Strollers or portable chairs (unless ADA compliant)
  • Tobacco products (including e-cigarettes)
  • Video Cameras
  • Weapons, replica weapons

Additional items may be denied without notice for the safety and security of all participants, fans, and staff.

Prohibited items and facility rules are subject to change during post-season events.

The parade will end at 12:10 PM, and a Stanford representative will be on-site to help coordinate. Please note that parents are welcome to watch and take photos from the stands but will not be permitted on the field.

Tickets must be scanned out upon exit. Re-entry will still require security screening and a valid ticket scan.

Fans can use restrooms immediately to the right of Gate 2 and between Sections 113 and 134 on the inner concourse.  All other restrooms will be closed to the public.

Tailgating is permitted as long as it remains confined to your vehicle's tailgate or trunk area and does not occupy additional parking spaces (e.g., for tents or BBQs).

Stanford students get in free by scanning their SUID at the gate! Enjoy free Chick-fil-A starting at 12 PM, courtesy of The Forest, on the concourse behind sections 136 and 137. Stay in the loop with student events and giveaways, like a chance to win a specialty strawberries and cream shake from Gott’s, by following Red Zone on Twitter and Instagram.
