The Lowdown
• No. 1 Stanford enters the NCAA Tucson Regional Championships as the top-seeded squad while seeking the fourth regional title in program history. Stanford won the title in 1996, 2010 and 2014.
• The regional bid is the 18th consecutive for the Cardinal, and Stanford has advanced to the NCAA Championships in eight of the past 11 seasons.
• Stanford enters the event as winners of two straight tournaments along with claiming the program’s third consecutive Pac-12 Conference title.
• Stanford has won eight national titles and twice been the NCAA runner-up. The Cardinal will be playing for a chance at its first title since 2007.
The Course
• The event will be played at The Gallery, a par-72, 7,258-yard track and one of six 54-hole regional tournaments conducted May 16-18. Stanford won the 2014 Pac-12 title at The Gallery.
The Field
• Top-seeded Stanford will be joined by Wake Forest, California, Oregon, North Carolina, North Florida, UAB, Georgia Tech, St. Mary’s, Georgia State, North Texas, Louisiana Tech, UC Riverside, Siena, Gonzaga (individual), UC Santa Barbara (individual), San Diego (individual), Long Beach State (individual) and Sacramento State (individual).
