STANFORD, Calif. - The Associated Press preseason poll released Sunday ranked Stanford eighth, the highest of any Pac-12 Conference program.
The reigning Pac-12 champions were seventh in USA Today's preseason poll.
Defending national champion Alabama is the No. 1 team followed by Clemson, Oklahoma, Florida State, LSU, Ohio State and Michigan. Stanford is No. 8, followed by No. 9 Tennessee and No. 10 Notre Dame.
Stanford opens its season Sept. 2 at home against Kansas State. FS1 will broadcast the game beginning at 6 p.m. PT.
