Women's Gymnastics

TBT: Meegan (Lannin) Bohmer

Each month, Stanford women's gymnastics will check in with an alumna to find out what she's been up to since graduation and how her time with the team and at Stanford has impacted their life. This week's #ThrowbackThursday is Meegan (Lannin) Bohmer (1992-95).

***What did you major in at Stanford?
I majored in sociology with an emphasis on organizational behavior. I also stayed an additional year to co-term and earn my master's degree in organizational behavior as well.

What was your favorite thing to do at Stanford that was not gymnastics related?
One aspect of Stanford that I loved was that athletes did not live in separate dorms. I met amazing friends outside of my sport and spent many hours hanging out with my friends from my dorm.

Favorite thing about college athletics?
I thoroughly enjoyed being part of a team at Stanford. At the club level, gymnastics can feel very much like an individual sport. Gymnastics at Stanford was entirely team focused. My teammates and I were a family that supported each other in and out of the gym!

Favorite SWG memory?
There are so many! One that stands out was qualifying for nationals in 1992.

Advice you would give the 2017 SWG?
Enjoy the ride!  The time at Stanford flies by but the memories will be with you forever. Take time to seek out all that Stanford has to offer - there is so much to be learned and experienced outside of the gym.

What aspect of Stanford do you miss the most?
Having all of your teammates and friends in close proximity. Also, the amazing weather and beautiful campus.

What are you up to now?
I'm back in the classroom teaching sixth grade after a 10-year break. I was fortunate to stay home with my three kiddos. My husband and I have also recently launched a new product called SCOUT. It's a car rack for jogging strollers!
