Late Charge Yields Bronze

ALPHARETTA, Ga. – No. 11 Stanford posted a 10-under 278 Sunday to finish third at the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate. It was the second-best score by any team during the outing hosted by Georgia Tech at the Golf Club of Georgia, and moved the Cardinal from seventh to its final position.
 
Stanford (293-286-278) teamed to go 7-under at the three-day, 54-hole event, tying USC for the third spot and one stroke behind co-winners Virginia and Texas.
 
Brandon Wu tied for fourth among individuals after rounds of 73-68-69. He was 6-under overall, with eight birdies against one bogey in his final 36 holes. Wu was three shots behind medalists Jimmy Stanger (Virginia) and Max McGreevy (Oklahoma).
 
Viraat Badhwar was steady with a 4-under 68 in his final round, which came after openings scores of 75-70. Badhwar tied for 12th. Franklin Huang (70-74-72) was even and tied for 19th.
 
Maverick McNealy, who tied for medalist honors at the event in 2015, went 75-74-69 to slide into the top-30 at 29th. McNealy had only one bogey during Sunday's round.
 
Isaiah Salinda (80-77-77) was 18-over.
 
The 11th annual Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate, formerly called the United States Collegiate Championship, utilized both of the Golf Club of Georgia's courses -- the 7,017-yard, par-72 Lakeside Course and the 7,039-yard, par-72 Creekside Course, for the first two rounds of the event. All 17 teams played the final round Sunday on the Lakeside Course.
 
Stanford returns to action when it plays host to the Cypress Point Classic (Oct. 31-Nov. 1) in Pebble Beach, California.
