Day 2 - Round 3: Singles Match Play

• Each team will compete with six players.

• Teams will play 54 holes over two days.

• The eight teams will be pre-seeded 1-8 in order by average ranking between Golfstat and Golfweek rankings seven days prior to event.

• No. 1 seed will play No. 8 seed, etc., in first round of bracket play. Winners will go forward in bracket, losers will move to consolation bracket. Each team will be guaranteed three matches under each format outlined. Lineup order will remain the same throughout the event.

Scoring
• Four points will be available per match.

• One point will be awarded for both the front-nine and back-nine matches, and two points for the overall match.

• Each match will be played over 18 holes under format during that round. The total number of "holes won" by each side over the full 18-holes will settle ties. Teams with highest point total at the end of each round will advance in the bracket.

The Course
• Cypress Point is, among golf courses, perhaps the ultimate enigma. It is one of the most famous, has been called the most beautiful and is widely considered to be one of the greatest golf courses in the world. The par-72, 6,509-yard Alister MacKenzie course nestled in Pebble Beach is set in coastal dunes, as the course enters the Del Monte forest during the front nine and reemerges to the rocky coastline for the finishing holes. Cypress Point annually is ranked among the best courses in the world, and tops in both the United States and California.

Last Time Out
• Stanford posted a final-round 10-under 278 to finish third at the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate. It was the second-best score by any team during the outing hosted by Georgia Tech at the Golf Club of Georgia, and moved the Cardinal from seventh to its final position.

• Stanford (293-286-278) teamed to go 7-under at the three-day, 54-hole event, tying USC for the third spot and one stroke behind co-winners Virginia and Texas.

• Brandon Wu (-6) tied for fourth among individuals after rounds of 73-68-69.
