STANFORD, Calif. – The No. 13 Stanford wrestling team plays host to Big Ten foe Purdue on Friday, Nov. 18 at 6:30 p.m. PT in Burnham Pavilion. The Boilermakers will first square off against Boise State at 5 p.m. Admission is free for both duals.
The Cardinal is 1-1 to start the season, defeating Cal Poly (21-9) before falling at No. 4 Penn State (36-6). Purdue is 3-0 with wins over UIndy, Bloomsburg and Northern Illinois. Friday marks the first dual of the season for Boise State, which is under the guidance of new head coach Mike Mendoza, who spent the previous six seasons at CSU Bakersfield.
Stanford has five ranked wrestlers in the InterMat polls – No. 2 Joey McKenna (141 pounds), No. 7 Connor Schram (125 pounds), No. 9 Nathan Butler (285 pounds), No. 11 Keaton Subjeck (165 pounds) and No. 14 Jim Wilson (174 pounds). Subjeck makes his debut in the poll after knocking off then-No. 8 Vincenzo Joseph of Penn State last week.
