FRESNO, Calif. - Redshirt senior Jim Wilson hit a milestone as four Cardinal wrestlers won titles at the 2016 Roadrunner Open, held at Clovis North High School.
Wilson, who is ranked No. 14 nationally at 174 pounds, became just the ninth Stanford wrestler to register 100 career wins. He went 5-0 on the day, including a 15-4 major decision over Bryce De Carmago, to claim the 174-pound title. He now has 103 career wins, ranking eighth all-time in program history.

Sophomore Joey McKenna, ranked No. 2 nationally at 141 pounds, also went 5-0 on the day to improve to 8-0 on the season. The Towaco, New Jersey native tallied three falls in the tournament and now has eight in his career. In the finals at 141 pounds, McKenna edged Army's Logan Everett, 2-1.
Also winning a title on Sunday was 11th-ranked Keaton Subjeck at 165 pounds. The El Dorado Hills, California native defeated Stanford teammate Peter Galli in the finals, 6-2. Subjeck also recorded three falls on the day, with his fastest coming in 31 seconds against Carlos Lopez in the second round. He is now 7-0 on the season, while Galli finished as the runner-up and is 4-1 on the year.
Stanford's final champion was No. 9 Nathan Butler at 285 pounds. The redshirt junior had four decisions in the tournament, including a 6-5 decision over Cal Poly's Spencer Empey in the finals. Butler improved to 6-1 on the season.
Also placing for the Cardinal were freshman Requir Van der Merwe (141 pounds) and redshirt sophomore Paul Fox (157 pounds). Van der Merwe, wrestling unattached, took fourth after going 3-2 in the tournament. He recorded a 17-0 technical fall over Connor Noonan of Oregon State in the opening round. A 4-2 loss to Army's Logan Everett put Van der Merwe in the consolation bracket, where he recorded a 9-1 major decision over Cal Poly's Victor Trujillo before falling 4-2 to Oregon State's Jack Hathaway in the thrid-place match.
Fox finished 5-1 on the day, securing his first wins of the season. He opened strong with major decisions against San Francisco State's Romeo Medina (12-3) and Cal Poly's Jett Moy (11-2). A close 1-0 loss to Purdue's Alex Griffin put him out of the championship bracket, but he reached the third-place match with a 10-9 decision over Cal Poly's Joey Granger. Facing Cal Poly's Colt Shorts, who Fox lost to in the openeing dual of the season, the Gilroy, California native wasted no time in a 1:05 fall.
Stanford will have a week off from competition for the Thanksgiving holiday before returning to the mats at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational on Dec. 2-3.
