STANFORD, Calif. - Two Stanford standouts -- Johnny Caspers and Nicole Stafford -- earned Pac-12 postgraduate scholarships on Thursday.
The scholarships, worth $9,000 each, are awarded to up to two student-athletes from each Pac-12 school annually. To qualify, they must have completed their final year of athletics eligibility, maintained a minimum 3.0 grade-point average and demonstrated a commitment to education, campus and community involvement, and leadership.
Caspers was a standout offensive lineman for the Stanford football program and earned a degree in earth systems. He was a two-time CoSIDA Academic All-District selection and three-time Pac-12 All-Academic second team honoree. On the field, he started 11 games as a senior and played in four straight bowl games, including two Rose Bowl apperances.

Stafford was a four-year letterwinner for the women's swimming and diving program, and an All-American for the 2017 NCAA championship team. The 2017 Honda Inspiration Award winner earned five career All-America honors and won a national title as a member of the 200-yard medley relay team in 2014. Outside of the pool, Stafford was a three-time Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention selection and two-time Scholar All-America.
