STANFORD, Calif. – No. 5 Stanford opens its 2017 home schedule with matchups against No. 10 Georgetown on Friday and Navy on Sunday at Laird Q. Cagan Stadium.
Friday's matchup against the Hoyas (3-1-0), set for 4 p.m. PT, is a rematch of Stanford's 2016 season opener in Washington D.C. Stanford (2-1-0) defeated Georgetown, 3-0, thanks to goals from Megan Turner, Jordan DiBiasi and Kyra Carusa. The Cardinal owns a 4-0-0 all-time record against the Hoyas.
Stanford returns to action on Sunday at 1 p.m. to face the Mids (3-2-0), who hosted the Cardinal in Annapolis, Maryland, in 2016. Stanford defeated Navy, 2-1, with goals from Alana Cook and Michelle Xiao. Stanford owns a 3-0-0 all-time record against Navy.

The Cardinal began the season with a three-game road trip, which included wins against Marquette and Wisconsin followed by a narrow 3-2 loss at No. 8 Florida last week.
Friday's match against Georgetown will broadcast live on Pac-12 Networks, and the first 500 fans in attendance will receive a pair of thundersticks. • The Cardinal opened the season with a 4-0 win at Marquette on Aug. 18. Kyra Carusa scored twice, and Catarina Macario and Mariah Lee added goals.
• Two days later, Stanford improved to 2-0 with a 5-0 win against Wisconsin. Macario scored twice, with Carusa, Sam Hiatt and Civana Kuhlmann pitching in a goal apiece.
• The Cardinal twice took the lead against No. 8 Florida last week, but surrendered two goals in a three-minute span in the second half to lose, 3-2. Macario and Beattie Goad netted for Stanford.

• Stanford dropped to No. 5 in the latest United Soccer Coaches top 25 poll, and checked in at No. 6 in this week's TopDrawerSoccer rankings. The Cardinal also earned a No. 5 ranking in the latest Soccer America poll.
• Seven of Stanford's 2017 opponents featured in this week's United Soccer Coaches top 25: No. 1 UCLA, No. 2 Florida, No. 7 USC, No. 10 Georgetown, No. 17 Utah, No. 21 Colorado and No. 25 California.
Freshman Getting in the Mix
• Forward Macario scored three goals on opening weekend against Marquette and Wisconsin, adding a fourth goal against Florida last week. She also scored in Stanford's 2-1 exhibition win at UC Davis on Aug. 10.
• Kiki Pickett started each of Stanford's first three matches at right back, and often overlaps with the attacking players up the right side.
• Civana Kuhlmann has made three appearances and one start, scoring her first collegiate goal against Wisconsin.
Home Cookin'
• Stanford is undefeated in its last 10 home openers, dating to 2007.
• Last season, Stanford started its home schedule with four straight wins over Florida, Wisconsin, Marquette and Minnesota.
• The Cardinal's last loss in a home opener came in 2006 against Utah. Prior to that, Stanford's last loss in a home opener came in 1988 against UC Santa Barbara.
Sharing the Ball
• Stanford has accrued nine assists on 11 goals this season.
• Jaye Boissiere leads the way with three assists – the redshirt junior has a helper in each of Stanford's games.
• Junior Jordan DiBiasi also registered assists in each of Stanford's first two matches.
