STANFORD, Calif. - No. 13 Stanford returns to The Farm this weekend to open up its home slate as it sets to host three ranked opponents in No. 17 Iowa, No. 22 UMass and No. 20 Harvard this Friday, Saturday and Monday at the Varsity Field Hockey Turf. Admission is free and open to the public.

Last Time Out:
The Cardinal opened its season last weekend on the road against two ranked opponents No. 4 UConn and No. 14 Northwestern. While Stanford was defeated 2-0 by UConn and 1-0 by Northwestern, a highlight came in the form of Kelsey Bing's incredible back-to-back career-best 10 save performances. On the weekend the sophomore turned away 20 of the 23 shots that she faced for a conference-leading .870 saves percentage and a 1.50 goals against average.

For her efforts in the cage, Bing was named the America East Defensive Player of the Week for the second time in her career and currently ranks fourth in the NCAA in saves per game and 12th in save percentage while leading the conference in both.

On Tap - No. 17 Iowa:
The Hawkeyes enter into this weekend with an 0-2 record after taking on No. 15 Wake Forest and No.1 UNC falling 3-2, and 3-0 respectively. Iowa hung tough with Wake Forest, knotting the game 2-2 until the 45th minute when a penalty stroke gave the Demon Deacons the advantage that they never relinquished.

Against the top-ranked UNC, Iowa's defense kept the Tarheels off the board until the 54th minute where they went on a three-goal spree in less than 10 minutes.

Players to watch for the Hawkeyes are Katie Birch, who scored both goals for Iowa against Wake Forest and goalie Katie Jones who put up seven saves on 13 shots faced.

All time against the Hawkeyes the Cardinal is 7-8 with its last meeting coming in 2015 resulting in a 3-2 win with Marissa Cicione scoring one of Stanford's three goals and Sarah Helgeson assisting on another. Under the leadership of Tara Danielson, Stanford is a perfect 5-0 and looking to even the series history.

On Tap - No. 22 UMass:
The Cardinal faces off against a familiar foe in the Minutewomen - partially because Danielson graduated from UMass in 1994 as a four-year letterwinner and captain. In addition, Stanford has faced UMass six times in program history and are 2-0 in Danielson's eight years against them after a 1-0 win last year in Amherst, Mass with Jessica Welch scoring the winning goal and Bing with three saves.

They enter this weekend with a 2-0 record after a dominating 8-3 win over Holy Cross and a 2-1 win over Cardinal conference opponent Vermont. Lucy Cooper and Sarah Hawkshaw led the charge for the Minutewomen while GK Emily Hazard made nine saves of the 13 shots she faced for a .692 save percentage.

On Tap - No. 20 Harvard:
The Crimson return to The Farm for Labor Day for a 12 p.m. tilt that will be aired live on Pac-12 Networks. Harvard will open its season on Friday as it travels to UC Davis to take on the Aggies that will be followed with a game against No. 25 Pacific on Saturday before taking on the Cardinal.

Danielson has helped coach Stanford to a 2-0 record in her eight seasons, but the teams haven't met since 2011 in Cambridge, Mass. The last time Harvard traveled to The Farm was in 2010, resulting in a 6-0 Stanford win.

Youth Movement:
The Cardinal roster boasts a combination of both experienced upperclassmen and hungry freshmen and sophomore classes. In Stanford's two games six freshmen have started with rookie and Max Preps top-10 recruit Corinne Zanolli leading the offense with five shots.
