STANFORD, Calif. – Jordan DiBiasi's goal in the 67th minute lifted No. 2 Stanford to a 1-0 win over Arizona on Thursday night at Laird Q. Cagan Stadium.

After Catarina Macario's left-footed drive cannoned off the crossbar, DiBiasi ran in behind the Wildcats' defense to put herself in position. Her initial header was saved, but the junior finished the rebound for the game's only goal.

For DiBiasi, it was her 15th career goal and eighth career game winner – she also scored the winner in a 7-0 win against Yale on Sept. 10. Lauren Rood finished the game with two saves to earn her fourth shutout of the season.

The Cardinal (9-1-0, 2-0-0) outshot the Wildcats (4-3-2 overall, 1-1-0 Pac-12) 32-4, forcing 11 saves out of Lainey Burdett and owning a 9-2 advantage in corner kicks.

Jaye Boissiere had the first scoring chance of the game, forcing a fine save from 30 yards out in the second minute. Michelle Xiao tested the keeper after an attacking run from Kiki Pickett, but Stanford still couldn't find the breakthrough.

Civana Kuhlmann had the best scoring chance of the first half, running onto a through ball from Andi Sullivan. Kuhlmann beat two defenders to create her own shot, forcing a fingertip save by Burdett in the 42nd minute.

After the break, Catarina Macario started to impose herself on the game, eventually finishing the contest with 11 attempts on goal. Macario's long attempt off the bar in the 67th minute nearly unlocked the game for Stanford, but DiBiasi was in perfect position to put the Cardinal in front.

In the 74th minute, Macario's curled effort from 20 yards was denied by another superb save, and Pickett was unlucky to see her follow-up effort hit the woodwork. Stanford survived a last-second corner kick to earn its seventh consecutive win and seventh shutout of the season.

Stanford returns to action on Sunday when it hosts Arizona State at Cagan Stadium for Cardinal Kids Day. With the purchase of any adult admission, fans will receive two free youth tickets, and the first 200 fans will receive a free pink Stanford women's soccer shirt, presented by Stanford medicine.
