One of Five Finalists

STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford signee Jenna Brown is one of five finalists for the 2018 Naismith Trophy High School Girls' Player of the Year the Atlanta Tipoff Club announced Monday.
 
Brown is a five-star talent, the No. 20 prospect in the espnW HoopGurlz Top 100 and part of Stanford's ninth-ranked recruiting class along with twins Lacie and Lexie Hull out of Spokane, Wash. Last month she was named to the East Team for the 17th McDonald's All American Game on March 28 in Atlanta and will be the 21st Stanford player to participate in the annual showcase.
 
Brown is back after missing her junior season recovering from a torn ACL and has averaged 24 points and eight rebounds in leading The Lovett School in Atlanta to a 22-4 record and a perfect 14-0 mark in in Region 5-AAA. Lovett won its first game of the GHSA Class AAA State Tournament on Friday, 52-27 over Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe, and will play East Hall in the second round on Thursday.
 
As a sophomore in 2015-16 she played in all 30 games and averaged 18.2 points, 6.2 rebounds, 4.1 assists, 2.7 steals and 1.3 blocks to help her team to an 18-12 record and state tournament appearance.
 
She started 28 games as a freshman with averages of 15.1 points, 3.4 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.6 steals. The Lions went 21-9 record and advanced to the semifinals of the state tournament.
 
A USA Basketball veteran, Brown won bronze alongside current Cardinal Maya Dodson at the 2016 FIBA U17 World Cup in Zaragoza Spain.
 
Chiney Ogwumike is Stanford's only previous winner of the Naismith Trophy High School Girls' Player of the Year award, taking home the honor in 2010.
 
The Naismith National Girls' High School Player of the Year winner will be announced on March 9.
