STANFORD, Calif. - Headed East. No. 25 Stanford women's lacrosse takes the trip to North Carolina for road tests at No. 16 Duke on Friday at noon PT and at Elon on Sunday at 9 a.m.

Matchups

No. 16 Duke Blue Devils (3-1) | Statistics
» Duke won its first three contests, including a home victory over Elon in its home opener and a 9-8 win over Northwestern in Durham.
» The lone loss for the Blue Devils was on the road at Virginia Tech (17-14). 
» Last season, the Blue Devils went 8-9 and the season ended in the quarterfinals of the ACC Tournament.

Elon Phoenix (0-3) | Statistics
» Elon has lost its first three this season, but all have come on the road against Top 20 competition. That includes a 17-9 loss to Duke in Durham, N.C., and a narrow two-goal defeat in South Bend to No. 18 Notre Dame.
» Elon has its first home game against High Point on Thursday night before hosting the Cardinal on Sunday.
» Last season, Elon reached the CAA finals and earned a berth in the NCAA Tournament. The Phoenix lost to No. 13 Virginia in the first round, 11-9, in Chapel Hill, N.C.

All-time Leader

» Murray became Stanford's all-time leading scorer with her 146th career goal against Harvard on Friday at Cagan Stadium. Murray's first tally was the record-setter. She scored a free position goal at the 23:05 mark to give the Cardinal a 6-1 lead. 
» Murray, who has now scored 148 times in a Cardinal uniform, surpassed Sarah Flynn (2008-11), who held the record at 145.
» Murray has also recorded 88 career assists, placing her in a tie for the program's all-time record with Claire Hubbard (2007-10). 
» Murray also has a 58-game point streak, dating back to March 7, 2014 against Towson.
» Murray also holds the school record with 236 career points, including a team-high 11 (six goals, five assists) this season.

 

Inaugural Pac-12 Season

» 2018 marks the first season in Pac-12 history. The conference consists of Cal, Arizona State, USC, Oregon, Cal and the Cardinal. Each team will play each other home and away for a total of 10 conference games. 
» Stanford leads the conference with 18.3 draw controls per game and is second in the league with 6.3 assists and 19.3 points per game. The Cardinal also ranks second in the Pac-12 with 9.7 caused turnovers per contest.
» Stanford, which was ranked 23rd in the ILWCA preseason poll, was selected to finish third in the Pac-12 in the conference's first preseason coaches poll. The Cardinal has seven games scheduled against teams ranked in the preseason Top 25. 
» Dillon Schoen, Madison O'Leary and Kelsey Murray were selected as team captains. Murray is Stanford's all-time leading scorer, O'Leary is a returning captain, and Schoen has played every game in her career. More info here.

A Look Back

» Freshman Ali Baiocco scored four times for Stanford, but the Cardinal fell to No. 2 Stony Brook, 15-9, in the home opener at Cagan Stadium on Feb. 19. Stanford trailed by as many as eight, but outscored the Seawolves in the second half and rallied in the closing minutes. A full recap is here.
» Fifth-year senior Kelsey Murray became the program's all-time leading scorer with a hat trick, and led the 24th-ranked Cardinal to a 21-11 victory over Harvard at Cagan Stadium on Friday night. Junior Areta Buness had four goals, while seniors Dillon Schoen and Maggie Nick each had a hat trick. Daniella McMahon and Julia Massaro led the Cardinal with three ground balls a piece.

» Next up, Pac-12 play! The first Pac-12 Conference game in program history is set for March 9 at No. 22 Colorado at 2 p.m. PT.
» Stanford completes its first Pac-12 road trip with a televised matchup at Oregon on March 11 at 3 p.m. The game can be seen on Pac-12 Networks.
» The inaugural Pac-12 home game will be on March 17 at 1 p.m. PT against Cal.
