Seven Pac-12 All-Academic

STANFORD, Calif. – Seven Stanford women's basketball student-athletes received recognition from the conference for their combined work in the classroom and on the court when the Pac-12 announced its women's basketball all-academic teams on Wednesday morning.

Brittany McPhee and Kaylee Johnson landed on the Pac-12 All-Academic first team while DiJonai Carrington, Shannon Coffee, Nadia Fingall, Alexa Romano and Alanna Smith each earned a spot on the Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention squad.

Stanford hadn't placed two on the all-academic first team since Kate Starbird and Jamila Wideman in 1997. It's the fifth consecutive year and seventh overall that the Cardinal has had at least seven players recognized by the conference for their studies. Stanford had a school-record eight honorees last March and seven in 1988, 2011, 2014, 2015 and 2016.

To be eligible for selection, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average, at least one year of enrollment at the institution and appear in at least 50 percent of their team's games. True freshmen are not eligible for Pac-12 All-Academic teams.
