STANFORD, Calif. - No. 19 Stanford lacrosse welcomes two Pac-12 teams to Cagan Stadium this weekend. The Cardinal hosts Arizona State at 7 p.m. PT on Friday, and first-place USC at 1 p.m. on Sunday.

Arizona State (5-5, 0-3 Pac-12) | Statistics
» Arizona State is in its first season as a varsity program.
» The Sun Devils won the program's first two games and five of its first six. 
» ASU has dropped its last four, all but one by double digits, and is looking for its first-ever Pac-12 victory.

No. 13 USC (5-3, 3-0 Pac-12) | Statistics
» USC has played one of the toughest schedules among Pac-12 teams this year. The Trojans have visited ranked foes in Virginia Tech, Notre Dame and Northwestern. USC also had one common non-conference opponent with the Cardinal -- both teams lost to No. 1 Stony Brook. 
» The Trojans have played three overtime games this year (2-1), including each of the last two. They fell to Boston College, 13-12, but defeated Colorado and Oregon in extra time last weekend in Los Angeles.

All-time Leader

» Graduate senior Kelsey Murray has set four school records this season.
» Murray became Stanford's all-time leading scorer with her 146th career goal against Harvard on Feb. 23 at Cagan Stadium. Murray's first tally of the game was the record-setter -- a free position goal at the 23:05 mark to give the Cardinal a 6-1 lead. Murray, who has now scored 165 times in a Cardinal uniform, surpassed Sarah Flynn (2008-11).
» Murray became Stanford's all-time career assists leader on March 2 at Duke. She recorded the 89th of her career to surpass Claire Hubbard (2007-10). On March 11 at Oregon, she became the first player in school history with 100 career assists.
» Murray set two school records on March 4. She became the first player in program history with 10 points in a game (five goals, five assists) and tied the school mark for assists in a game. 
» Murray also holds the school record with 259 career points, including a team-high 34 (17 goals, 17 assists) this season.
» Murray has an active 63-game point streak, dating back to March 7, 2014 against Towson.

Offensive Outburst

» Stanford boasts one of the top offenses in the nation, ranking fifth in the nation in assists (7.25) and point per game (23.12), and sixth in the country in scoring offense (15.88 goals per game). The Cardinal leads the Pac-12 in each category. 
» Kelsey Murray ranks atop the Pac-12 in assists, points per game and shot percentage, and is second in the league in total points.
» Stanford's league-best 23.12 points per game is four points higher than Colorado, which ranks second with 19.22 points per game. 
» The Cardinal also has a conference-best .458 shooting percentage. 
» Stanford has more possessions than most. The Cardinal ranks 10th in the nation and leads the Pac-12 with 16.12 draw controls per game. Julia Massara is tops on the team with 34 draw controls, and Genesis Lucero is second with 32. 

 


Inaugural Pac-12 Season

» 2018 marks the first season in Pac-12 history. The conference consists of Cal, Arizona State, USC, Oregon, Cal and the Cardinal. Each team will play each other home and away for a total of 10 conference games. 
» Stanford played in the first-ever Pac-12 game at Colorado on March 9. Sophomore Daniella McMahon won the conference's opening draw control, but the No. 18 Cardinal lost a seven-goal lead and fell to the 19th-ranked Buffaloes, 18-16.
» In the first-ever Pac-12 game at Cagan Stadium, Stanford knocked off arch rival Cal, 21-5, on March 17.
» Stanford, which has been ranked in the IWLCA Top 25 each week this season, was selected to finish third in the Pac-12 in the conference's first preseason coaches poll. The Cardinal has seven games scheduled against teams ranked in the preseason Top 25, and is 1-3 against Top 25 opposition so far this year.
» Dillon Schoen, Madison O'Leary and Kelsey Murray were selected as team captains. Murray is Stanford's all-time leading scorer, O'Leary is a returning captain, and Schoen has played every game in her career. More info here.

On the Road Again

» The women of Stanford lacrosse had quite the 11-day adventure. From March 1-11, the team traveled more than 7,700 miles, spent time in five different airports and hit 10 different cities for its road games at No. 15 Duke, Elon, No. 19 Colorado and Oregon. 
» The team also lost an hour due to daylight savings time on this trip.
» Stanford flew in and out of airports in San Francisco, Raleigh, San Jose, Denver and Portland.  
» In addition to the airports, the Cardinal also took the team bus to Durham, Elon, Boulder, Eugene and Palo Alto. 
» In all, Stanford logged 7,317 miles in the air and 462 miles on the bus. 
» Stanford went 3-1 on the road trip. All three wins came by double digits and the only loss was to the 19th-ranked Buffaloes, 18-16.

A Look Back

» In one half of play, Kelsey Murray came within one goal of the Stanford single-game scoring record. Murray's six goals led the Cardinal to a 21-5 victory over Cal on Saturday in the first Pac-12 lacrosse game played on The Farm. A full written recap is here and video recap is below.


A Look Ahead

» Same opponents. Different venues. The Cardinal takes on the Sun Devils in Tempe on Friday, and then visits the Trojans on Sunday in Los Angeles.
