Work To Do

SAN JOSE del CABO, Mexico – Senior Franklin Huang fashioned four birdies and fired an even-par 71 to pace Stanford on Monday in the second round of the Querencia Cabo Collegiate at Querencia Golf Club.

After combining for a best four out of five player total of 6-over 290 on Sunday, the Cardinal shot 295 on Monday for a 36-hole score of 17-over 585. Stanford is 13th, with top-ranked Oklahoma State leading the 15-team field with a two-day tally of 10-under 558.

The spacious desert course includes many elevation changes and is unforgiving to errant shots. Ocean breezes add to the challenge.

Junior Isaiah Salinda notched his second consecutive 73 and is tied for 33rd with teammate Henry Shimp (75) at 4-over 146. Huang is knotted for 45th at 5-over 147.

Freshman Ashwin Arasu (70-80) has a share of 54th at 8-over 150, followed by junior Brandon Wu (78-76) at 12-over 154.

Collin Morikawa of Cal (66-67) and Matthew Wolff of Oklahoma State (65-68) are tied for the individual lead at 9-under 133.

Tuesday's final round begins at 8 a.m. PT a shotgun start. Live scoring can be found at GoStanford.com.
