One More Time

STANFORD, Calif. – The 27th-ranked Stanford women's gymnastics team concludes its home season Sunday by hosting No. 3 UCLA on Senior Day at 1 p.m. in Maples Pavilion. It will be the last opportunity to watch and appreciate lone senior Elizabeth Price, one of the nation's leading all-around performers.

An inspirational in and out of the gym, Price has already recorded two perfect 10s this season on the uneven bars and floor exercise. She ranks No. 2 nationally in all-around (39.547), is tied for third on the uneven bars (9.864) and floor (9.922), and is fifth on vault.

Price is the only gymnast in program history to score 10s in three events. As a freshman in 2015, she accomplished it on vault against Oregon State. All were achieved at Maples Pavilion.

"My goal is to have a great meet and finish on a high note," said Price.

• In addition to the 10s, Price has registered season-highs of 9.975 on vault and 9.950 on balance beam. In nine meets, she has scored 9.900 or higher 21 times and collected 25 firsts.

• UCLA has a decided statistical advantage. The Bruins rank fourth or better in all four events: No. 2 on floor (49.447) and balance beam (49.419), No. 3 on vault (49.239) and N. 4 on bars (49.347).

• Stanford is ranked in the top 20 in three of four events (vault, floor and beam) and has the ability to compete against UCLA if everyone hits their routines.

• While the Cardinal have 13 players on its roster, including six freshmen, the Bruins boast 24. They are led by redshirt senior Christine Peng-Peng Lee, sophomore Kyla Ross and junior Katelyn Ohashi. All three have scored 10s this season.

• Lee (9.928) and Ohashi (9.913) rank first and third in the country, respectively, on balance beam, while Ohashi ranks third in floor (9.909). Ross is third on bars (9.931) and sixth in all-around (39.579).

• The meet will be televised live by Pac-12 Networks with Jim Watson (play-by-play) and Amanda Borden (analyst).

• Price has scored 9.900 on bars and floor in eight of nine meets this season, and six of nine times on vault.

• Price established a career-high of 39.775 in all-around against Arizona State on January 20. She has captured six all-around titles in 2018.

• Stanford's 13-player roster includes nine underclassmen, including six true freshmen. Of the latter, Kyla Bryant, Rachael Flam, Lauren Navarro and Taylor Lawson have made significant contributions.

• Sophomore Kaylee Cole has led off on vault, beam and floor in five consecutive meets.

• Earlier this week, Price was named Pac-12 Gymnast of the Week for the second time this season and the sixth time during her career. Flam (Feb. 6) and Bryant (Feb. 13) have been honored as Pac-12 Newcomers of the Week.

• First-year Stanford head coach Tabitha Yim is the most decorated women's gymnast in program history. She was a 14-time All-American and earned a biology degree in 2008.

• The theme for Sunday's meet is "Wipe Out Cancer." Several cancer survivors will be recognized, including UCLA head coach Valorie Kondos Field.
