STANFORD, Calif. – Opponents and game times for the 2018 Rainbow Wahine Showdown have been announced and Stanford will play FGCU, American and host Hawaii in the three-day tournament at the Stan Sheriff Center in Honolulu from Nov. 23-25.
The Cardinal's Thanksgiving trip begins against FGCU on Friday, Nov. 23 at 4:30 p.m. HT/6:30 p.m. PT. Stanford knocked off the Eagles in the second round of last year's NCAA Tournament, 90-70, behind a 28-point, 12-rebound double-double from Alanna Smith. The Cardinal was also victorious in the teams' only other meeting in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico on Nov. 27, 2013, 83-59, in what was Tara VanDerveer's 900th career victory.
Stanford and American will match up for the first time on Saturday, Nov. 24 at noon HT/2 p.m. PT and the Cardinal will close out its journey to Honolulu with the hose Rainbow Wahine on Sunday, Nov. 25 at 2:30 p.m. HT/4:30 p.m. PT. Stanford is 9-0 all-time against Hawaii and won the teams' last meeting at this same tournament on Nov. 29, 2014, 86-73.
Tip times and broadcast information for the Cardinal's other nonconference games along with its Pac-12 schedule will be announced at a later date once television arrangements have been finalized.
