STANFORD, Calif. - No. 25 Stanford continues its homestand on Friday against Pacific, returning to action following a 12-day break.

After opening the season with three straight hard-fought losses to top-15 opponents, Stanford (5-3) has ripped off five consecutive victories during a stretch in which has outscored opponents 27-3.

First up for the Cardinal this weekend is a Friday night tilt against Pacific (6-4), representing the first of three meetings this season against the Tigers. The teams have hooked up three times in each of the last two seasons, with Stanford winning four of six overall.

Two days later, Stanford hosts UC Davis (6-6) in the conference opener for both teams. Given its recent dominance, the Cardinal was tabbed as the unanimous divisional favorite in the America East preseason poll, picked to capture the West Division crown ahead of Pacific, California and UC Davis. Stanford has been selected as the preseason pick for the third time in four years.

The Cardinal, which has won back-to-back conference titles, will also host this year's America East Championship on Nov. 1-4 at the Varsity Turf.

After scoring a team-high 15 goals as a freshman last year, Corinne Zanolli ranks third in the nation in goals scored with 11 while also leading the Cardinal in assists (4), points (26) and shots (37). Emma Christus is right behind with four goals, three assists, 11 points and 11 shots.

Stanford's freshman class has contributed as expected, led by Molly Redgrove's three goals, four assists, 10 points and 11 shots. Isabelle Pilson, Fenella Scutt, Lily Croddick and Juli Porto have appeared in all eight games while Hannah Santos has earned playing time in two matches behind All-American standout Kelsey Bing, who ranks 11th in the country with a GAA of 1.23.

After this weekend, the Cardinal travels to Iowa City, Iowa, for matches against Michigan (Oct. 6) and host Iowa (Oct. 7).
