With the 2019 season set to begin on February 8 at the Kajikawa Classic, freshman Emily Young took time to answer a few questions to help introduce herself to the Stanford softball fanbase.

I chose Stanford because…:
It is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to both compete in top-tier athletics and receive the best possible education, challenging myself on and off the field.

Three words that best describe me:
Curious, Competitive and Tenacious.

Road trip I'm most looking forward to this year:
LSU.

If someone wanted to give me a BIG gift certificate, I'd want it to be to:

My favorite place to travel:
Michigan (to visit family).

I was playing centerfield and threw a girl out at first on a ground ball up the middle.

I have been number two every softball game since my first ever tee-ball game.

My first job:
Little League umpire.
