STANFORD, Calif. – Sarah Klass and Madison Berggren each scored four goals to lead No. 2 Stanford in a 17-1 rout of Santa Clara, Friday, at the Avery Aquatic Center.
The Cardinal (11-1) improves to 8-0 all-time against the Broncos (4-8). Stanford out shot Santa Clara 30-20.
Stanford led 9-0 and scored the game's first 13 goals. Senior Cassidy Wiley and freshman Madison Stamen each turned in a hat trick along with an assist. Freshman Ryann Neushul added two goals, while rookie Chloe Harbilas slipped one by the Broncos in the fourth quarter.
True freshman Thea Walsh was in goal for the Cardinal, finishing with two saves.
Santa Clara senior Annie Eldredge scored the lone goal of the night for the Broncos.
Up next, Stanford travels to Tempe, Arizona to take on No. 9 Arizona State on Saturday, March 9.
