STANFORD, Calif. – No. 2 Stanford will return home this week, welcoming No. 13 Air Force to Burnham Pavilion for a 7 p.m. meet on Friday night.
Matching up against then-No. 5 Minnesota and then-No. 6 Illinois from Champaign, Ill. on the Fighting Illini's Senior Day last week, No. 2 Stanford placed second to the host school in a battle of top-six squads. Illinois recorded a season-best 413.050 to top the Cardinal at 411.650, followed by Minnesota at 404.750. Ryan Sheppard and Brody Malone each captured one event title, with Sheppard winning the parallel bars and Malone finishing first on high bar.
Friday's meet against Air Force is the penultimate head-to-head clash for Stanford, as the Card will host California on Saturday, March 30 at 4 p.m. from Burnham Pavilion. The MPSF Championships will then follow on April 6 in Norman, Okla.
