Sweeping Past Colorado

BOULDER, Colo. - No. 3 Stanford completed a sweep of its Mountain road swing, breezing past Colorado 4-0 on Sunday morning.

Winners of 13 in a row, the Cardinal (18-1, 9-0 Pac-12) concluded the week atop the Pac-12 standings with only next week's match at California remaining in the regular season.

Three-time defending Pac-12 champion Stanford has now won 36 straight regular-season conference matches dating back to March 5, 2016, when it lost 4-3 at Arizona State.

Stanford notched its fourth straight shutout and 12th overall. The Cardinal has not surrendered a point since edging USC 4-3 on March 30.

Leading 1-0 after doubles, Emma Higuchi delivered a 6-3, 6-0 victory at No. 6 before Michaela Gordon added a 6-1, 6-1 triumph at No. 1.

The clincher came on court two from Melissa Lord, who defeated Monica Malinen 6-1, 6-2 before the match was halted.
