Senior Day Statement

STANFORD, Calif. - No. 5 Stanford completed a sweep of its final homestand, cruising past No. 15 Washington 4-0 on Saturday afternoon at Taube Family Tennis Stadium.

In a battle of conference unbeatens, Stanford (16-1, 7-0 Pac-12) flexed its muscle against Washington (16-2, 6-1 Pac-12) and moved one step closer to securing the regular-season crown.

Winners of 11 in a row, three-time defending Pac-12 champion Stanford has now won 34 straight regular-season conference matches dating back to March 5, 2016, when it lost 4-3 at Arizona State.

Meanwhile, the Cardinal remained unbeaten in 11 home matches this season and has won 59 of its last 62 contests at Taube Family Tennis Stadium.

Fittingly, Melissa Lord and Caroline Lampl delivered convincing singles victories on Senior Day, which began with a pre-match ceremony also honoring classmates Naomie Rosenberg, Elizabeth Yao and Kimberly Yee. Among the accomplishments for Stanford's five-member senior class: two NCAA titles (2016, 2018), three Pac-12 crowns (2016, 2017, 2018), 86-12 overall record, 35-1 Pac-12 record and 47-2 record at Taube Family Tennis Stadium.

Prior to Lord and Lampl collecting victories, Stanford powered its way to a 1-0 lead by capturing the doubles point.

Emily Arbuthnott later followed with her team-leading sixth clincher, defeating Natsuho Arakawa 7-5, 6-3 at the No. 3 position.

Next up for Stanford is a road swing through Utah (Friday, April 12) and Colorado (Sunday, April 14).
