Aleeza Yu is a senior from Toronto, Canada, and competes on vault and the uneven bars. She's majoring in linguistics and psychology and is interested in becoming a speech therapist. Yu participated in the 2018 ACE program and spent three weeks in South Africa.
Who inspires you and why?
My older sister has always been my biggest inspiration because of her compassion and willingness to try new challenges.

Which celebrity would you want to sit next to on a long flight and why?
Chrissy Teigen. I love her humor and she's married to John Legend. She's also made a huge impact as an advocate for women and immigrant rights.
Fun fact?
The first language I spoke was Cantonese, and now I also speak English, French and a little Mandarin.
Name a favorite childhood memory?
Putting on renditions of High School Musical with my sister for my parents to watch.
