Hamrick Joins Staff

STANFORD, Calif. - Molly Hamrick recently joined Stanford's staff as an assistant coach for the 2019-20 campaign, as announced by head coach Derek Byrnes

Hamrick joins the Cardinal after serving as an assistant coach at Princeton, her alma mater, for the previous two seasons. Hamrick was a member of Princeton's 2011 varsity eight boat that captured one of two NCAA titles in the Varsity 8 in school history.

During Hamrick's coaching tenure (2017-19), Princeton produced a pair of top-10 finishes and consecutive Ivy League titles.

Hamrick began her coaching career as an assistant for the Brookline High School varsity girls program from 2015-16. She then became an assistant coach at Community Rowing, Inc. (CRI) in Boston, during the summers of 2016-17.

In 2017, Hamrick coached an Under-19 W4x to the USRowing Club national championship, which included three Under-19 W2xs in the Grand Final at Club Nationals, ultimately placing 2nd, 4th and 5th out of 65 entries.

Hamrick enjoyed a memorable collegiate career at Princeton, highlighted by the undefeated 2011 season, when the Tigers won both the Ivy League and NCAA title. Hamrick's senior season was equally impressive, with the Tigers claiming their second Ivy title in three years while the Princeton 1V nearly knocked off California in the NCAA final before coming away with silver.

A 2013 graduate of Princeton with a bachelor's degree in psychology, Hamrick was a two-time first-team All-Ivy League rower, as well as a First-Team All-American.

Hamrick was on the U.S. Under-23 National Team in the Women's 4x, which reached the championship final of its event in Linz, Austria. Following a move to Boston, Hamrick trained for three and a half years at Riverside Boat Club, as well as with the U.S. National Team Training Center, racing primarily in the 1x and 2x.

Hamrick won a silver medal in the Senior Women's 1x at the 2015 Royal Canadian Henley Regatta, a bronze in the Women's Championship 2x at the 2015 Head of the Charles Regatta and another bronze in the Women's 2x at the 2016 US Olympic Trials.
