DURHAM, N.C. - Despite a strong second-half effort, No. 15 Stanford was unable to convert its scoring chances in a 1-0 loss to No. 2 Duke on Sunday afternoon.

Olivia Sahaydak scored the game's only goal in the 18th minute, propelling Duke (8-1, 0-1 ACC) to its fourth shutout of the season.

Stanford (6-5, 1-0 America East) dropped both games of its road swing, also falling 3-1 at No. 21 Wake Forest on Friday.

The Blue Devils held an 11-7 shot advantage, with nine of those attempts coming in the first half as the Cardinal was able to stay within striking distance.

Stanford controlled play in the second half, outshooting Duke 4-2 and applying more offensive pressure.

Lynn Vanderstichele provided a boost off the bench, leading the Cardinal with three shot attempts.

Kelsey Bing made three saves in goal.

Stanford next faces Syracuse on Saturday, Oct. 5, in a neutral-site match to be played in Berkeley.
