Chalk Talk With Kyla Bryant

Kyla Bryant is a junior from Lake Oconee, Georgia, and competes in all-around. A science, technology and society major, she has participated in every meet the last two years on vault, beam and floor, and won a team-high 17 individual events last season, including six all-around titles.

Who inspires you and why?
Any person that exhibits great passion or compassion. People with great passion make the impossible happen. And when you match compassion with purpose, that's when you can really change the world.

Fun fact?
When I was in the ninth grade, I was the main character's (Imani Hakim) stunt double in the Gabby Douglas movie.

If you could add your name into the dictionary, what would it mean?
Adjective: confident, dynamic. Verb: to build others up; to radiate love.

Favorite song lyrics or song that best describes you?
"I mean you need to hear this: Love is not just a verb, it's you looking in the mirror." The lyrics are by Kendrick Lamar in the song Poetic Justice. They remind me to stay true to myself and to always be aware of my purpose in whatever I commit to.



Favorite mode of transportation around campus?
I enjoy walking around our beautiful campus whenever I can.

Which celebrity would you want to sit next to on a long flight and why?
Rihanna, because not only is she a world class musician, but she has created one of the most top tier and diverse makeup companies this world has ever seen. Her style is fire – she just has a beautiful and vibrant spirit.

Favorite Netflix (Hulu, HBOnow, etc. show or movie)?
Chrisley Knows Best (show) and Remember The Titans (movie).

What is your dream job and what makes it so amazing?
To become a CEO of my own private equity or investment banking firm.
