Strong Start

STANFORD, Calif. – Earning a victory in its opening match of 2020, No. 12 Stanford men's tennis (1-0) rolled past UC Davis (0-1), 4-0, on Friday night at the Taube Family Tennis Center.

The Cardinal earned the doubles point to take an early advantage, as the top-line pair of Axel Geller and Neel Rajesh picked up a 6-2 victory with Tomas Kopczynski and Alexandre Rotsaert right on their heels at 6-3.  

Sangeet Sridhar picked up his 10th win of the season to give Stanford a 2-0 lead, winning in straight sets, 6-1, 6-2. Similar results followed for Rajesh and Rotsaert, who ended with 6-2, 6-3 and6-3, 6-1 decisions.

The Cardinal returns to action Jan. 17-20 at the Sherwood Cup in Thousand Oaks, California.
