AUSTIN, Texas – Competing in its first true road contest of the spring season, No. 8 Stanford men's tennis dropped its match against No. 4 Texas, 4-0, on Friday evening.
The Longhorns picked up the early doubles advantage, despite a 6-3 win on court one for Axel Geller and Neel Rajesh over the 13th-ranked doubles pair of Yuya Ito and Christian Sigsgaard. The win was the pair's seventh of the season, and the fifth of the year in the top doubles position.
Geller, Sangeet Sridhar and Filip Kolasinski each picked up first-set wins in singles play, but all three matches ended unfinished.
The Cardinal falls to 13-5 in the all-time series with Texas, but gets right back at it on Sunday against TCU in Fort Worth. First serve is set for 11 a.m. PT.
