STANFORD, Calif. - Real Woods (141 pounds) and Shane Griffith (165 pounds) won titles, while Stanford finished second as a team at the Pac-12 Championships at Maples Pavilion on Saturday.

Stanford finished with 122.0 team points, finishing behind champion Arizona State (141.5) while CSU Bakersfield (99.5) was third. It marks the fourth time since joining the Pac-12 in 1978 in which the Cardinal has been the runner-up (2008, 2014, 2017), including the two previous times it has hosted at Maples Pavilion (2014, 2017).

Joining Woods and Griffith as automatic qualifiers for the NCAA Championships were Jackson DiSario (125 pounds), Tyler Eischens (157 pounds) and Nathan Traxler (197 pounds).

The Cardinal led all teams with eight wrestlers in the finals. Woods and Griffith became the sixth and seventh freshman to win conference title for Stanford, respectively. Griffith, who remains undefeated on the season, shared Most Outstanding Wrestler honors with Arizona State's Kordell Norfleet (197 pounds).

Woods, who is ranked third nationally at 141 pounds, reached the finals with a first-period fall (1:57) over Cal Poly's Jake Ryan. In the finals, the redshirt freshman from Albuquerque posted an 11-2 major decision over Oregon State's Grant Willits. Woods improved to 19-1 and earned his third tournament win of the season.

Griffith, who is also a redshirt freshman who is ranked No. 3 nationally, moved to 28-0 overall with an 11-2 major decision over CSU Bakersfield's Jacob Thalin and a 4-0 decision over seventh-ranked Josh Shields of Arizona State in the finals. Griffith's 28-match winning streak is the second-longest in program history and the best start to a career in school history.

Finishing as runners-up for the Cardinal were DiSario, Requir van der Merwe (149 pounds), Eischens, Jared Hill (174 pounds), Traxler and David Showunmi (285 pounds). Redshirt sophomore Foster Karmon, who was wrestling up a weight class, took fourth at 184 pounds, while senior Gabriel Townsell (6th) had to injury default his first match and medically forfeit out of the 133-pound bracket.

Stanford will travel to Minneapolis for the NCAA Championships, March 19-21, at U.S. Bank Stadium.
