STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford's 3.83 team GPA has been recognized as the nation's second-highest total, resulting in the program being honored with an NFHCA Division I National Academic Team Award.
The NFHCA National Academic Team Award recognizes programs that earned a team grade-point average of 3.0 or higher during the fall semester of the 2020-21 school year.
The Cardinal trailed only national leader VCU (3.84), with Maine (3.81), Yale (3.81), Dartmouth (3.80), Rutgers (3.80) and Louisville (3.80) rounding out the top five.
Stanford has been well represented recently among the NFHCA national awards program.
Last week, Megan Frost and Isabelle Pilson were named NFHCA Division I Scholars of Distinction, honoring student-athletes who achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.9 or higher through the first semester of the 2020-21 academic year.
Earlier this month, the Cardinal was honored with 16 student-athletes on the 2020 NFHCA National Academic Squad, featuring student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.3 or higher through the first semester of the 2020-2021 academic year. Keeley Akagi, Lily Croddick, Megan Frost, Caroline Guden, Liz Heckard, Haley Mossmer, Isabelle Pilson, Juli Porto, Caroline Reinhart, Hannah Santos, Fenella Scutt, Lynn Vanderstichele and Rose Winter all earned spots on the list, as did Kaylie Mings, Hannah Schofield and Corinne Zanolli, each of whom notched their fourth straight appearance.
Stanford (3-0, 3-0 America East) hosts UC Davis tonight in the first of two home games at the Varsity Turf. The Cardinal is coming off a three-game road sweep, collecting conference wins over Vermont (3-0), Monmouth (3-2) and New Hampshire (3-0).
