COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Keyshawn King was the only Stanford athlete to compete Friday at the NCAA West Prelims at Texas A&M, a qualifying meet for the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

King placed 18th in the men's triple jump with a distance of 52-0 (15.85 meters), which he reached on the second of three attempts. However, it was not enough to earn a top-12 finish and a berth in the NCAA Championships on June 9-12 in Eugene, Oregon.

Only three events, all field events, took place Friday before poor weather postponed the rest of the events to Saturday.
