- For the first time in program history, Stanford beach volleyball will play in the NCAA Championships in Gulf Shores, Ala. The Cardinal, at 23-11, earned the No. 6 seed and will square off on Friday morning at 10 a.m. PT with No. 3 seed Florida State. With a win, the Cardinal will meet the winner of No. 2 USC and No. 7 Cal Poly at 2 p.m. PT Friday. With a loss, Stanford would take on the loser of that match at 12 p.m. PT Friday.
- Stanford's 23 wins are its most in school history, surpassing the previous record of 18 set in 2017.
- The Cardinal has 11 wins over ranked teams, while all 11 of its losses came via ranked foe, too. Seven of Stanford's 11 losses came against opponents who also qualified for the NCAA Championships (UCLA, USC and LMU).
- Earlier this season, Stanford set a program record with a 13-match winning streak and achieved its highest regular-season ranking in program history at No. 7 in the AVCA Top 20.
- With 22 individual wins, Amelia Smith is one win shy of tying the school record. The school record is 23, set by both Sunny Villapando and Courtney Bowen in 2018. Xolani Hodel, Maddi Kriz, Emmy Sharp and Sunny Villapando each have 21 wins while Maddie Dailey and Maya Harvey have 19.
- Amelia Smith and Emmy Sharp are 19-3 on the season, setting the program record for wins by a pair in a single season in school his- tory (18, Smith/Morgan Hentz, 2018). They had won 13 straight matches to set the school record prior to Saturday’s loss to USC. After going 3-1 at the Pac-12 Championships, Sharp and Smith were named to the Pac-12 Championship All-Tournament Team.
