CHULA VISTA Calif. – Continuing its spring campaign, Stanford lightweight rowing swept its three races at the Chula Vista Elite Training Center against UC San Diego on Friday morning. Conditions were near-perfect on the water for the 2,000-meter course.
The varsity eight opened the proceedings with a 13-second victory over the Tritons' varsity eight, stopping the clock with a time of 6:55.8.
There were two varsity four races, the first of which saw the 2x finish in 8:07.7, closely followed by the Stanford varsity four in 8:15.6. The Tritons crossed the line in 8:35.5.
The next race saw the Cardinal finish in 7:21.2, a 21-second win over the A-boat from UC San Diego, which finished in 7:42.9.
The regatta was the final action for the Cardinal before the IRA Championships, set for May 28-29 in West Windsor, New Jersey.
