STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford women's swimming and diving opened the 2021-22 season with a 166-81 victory over Bay Area foe San Jose State, Friday at Avery Aquatic Center.
The Cardinal won all 14 events in the dual – which included both the 200 medley and 400 free relays.
Torri Huske, Taylor Ruck and Regan Smith were double event winners on the day. Huske swam to victories in the 50 free (22.58) and the 500 free (4:51.33) in her collegiate debut. Huske and the freshmen quartet of Anna Shaw, Aurora Roghair and Amy Tang were victorious in the 400 free relay, racing to a winning time of 3:24.17.
Smith – who also made her collegiate debut – picked up victories in the 200 fly (1:57.34) and the 200 IM (2:00.69). She was also a member of Stanford's winning 200 medley relay team, and she was joined by Lucie Nordmann, Zoe Bartel and Anya Goeders (1:41.12).
After a two-year hiatus from Stanford to remain in Canada and train for the 2020 Olympics, Ruck returned to the Cardinal in dominant fashion to win the 100 back (53.94) and 100 fly (53.57).
Stanford will return to action with a dual at Utah to open Pac-12 competition, Oct. 15.
