Sunday Sweep

STANFORD, Calif. – Hitting .345 as a team, No. 18 Stanford swept Colorado, 25-19, 25-16, 25-17, Sunday, at Maples Pavilion.

Stanford (11-5) improved to 6-2 in the Pac-12, moving into a four-way tie for first place with UCLA, Washington and Washington State. Colorado dropped to 12-5 overall and 3-5 in the conference.

The Cardinal doubled up on the Buffaloes in kills, 52-26, and had a season-high in aces with 9 – four by Caitie Baird. Stanford held Colorado to a .149 attack percentage and out dug the Buffaloes, 51-39.

Baird led all players with 14 kills on .414 hitting to go with seven digs. Junior Kendall Kipp finished with 13 kills on .346 hitting, five digs, four blocks and an ace. Freshman Sami Francis chipped in with 12 kills on a .333 attack percentage.

Freshman setter Kami Miner controlled the offense with 37 assists and was one dig shy of her career-high with 14. Sophomore libero Elena Oglivie also collected 14 digs and tallied a career-best eight assists.

Senior middle blocker Holly Campbell hit .412 with nine kills and notched three blocks. Redshirt sophomore McKenna Vicini finished with four kills and three blocks for the Cardinal.

Sophomore defensive specialist Alex Lougeay, whose older sister Katie play for Colorado, recorded seven digs and two aces for Stanford. Freshman defensive specialist Taylor Beaven totaled four digs.

Colorado was led by Jahara Campbell's eight kills, while opposite Jill Schneggenburger had six kills and seven digs. Setter Jenna Ewert, whose brother Jordan played for the Stanford's men's volleyball team from 2016-19, turned in 20 assists, six digs, four blocks and two kills.

Up next, Stanford begins a four-match road swing at No. 25 Washington State on Friday. First serve is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Pac-12 Bay Area.
