Thursday Results Opens in a new window

ATLANTA, Ga. – Stanford women's swimming and diving saw three student-athletes earn individual All-America honors to highlight day two of the NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships, Thursday at the McAuley Aquatic Center.

Torri Huske took second in the 200 IM in a blistering time of 1:51.81 to move to second on the school record book in the event. Huske held the lead after the butterfly and backstroke legs of the medley, but she was overtaken by defending national champion
Alex Walsh on the breaststroke leg – who set the American record in the process.

The freshman trails only Ella Eastin's 1:50.67 on the school record book.

In the 500 free, Brooke Forde (4:36.18) and Morgan Tankersley (4:40.08) took fifth and eighth, respectively to earn All-America honors.

Stanford closed out the night with a sixth-place showing in the 200 free relay. The quartet of Torri Huske, Taylor Ruck, Anya Goeders and Emma Wheal went 1:26.90 in the fastest heat of the evening – with all four earning All-America honors in the event.

The Cardinal moved up to third in the team leaderboard with 123 points – only five behind Texas.

In the diving pool, the trio of Carolina Sculti (276.16), Daria Lenz (275.60) and Maria Papworth (247.55) competed in the prelims on the 1-meter.

Friday's action of the national championships will feature the 400 IM, 100 fly, 200 free, 100 breast, 100 back, 3-meter diving and the 400 medley relay.
