STANFORD, Calif. -- Thirteen from Stanford earned All-West Region fencing honors from the U.S. Fencing Coaches Association.
Three selected to the first team: Haley Koo (women's foil), Aidan Kung (men's epee), and Lucas Orts (men's foil). Koo and Orts won West Region titles in San Antonio, Texas, on March 12, and Kung was second.
They join Noah Matricciani and Donghwan Park (men's saber), and Draper Dayton (men's foil) at the NCAA Championships, from Thursday through Sunday at Notre Dame.
Here are the Cardinal to earn All-Region honors:
Men
First team: Aidan Kung (epee), Lucas Orts (foil).
Second team: Noah Matricciani (saber).
Honorable mention: Robin Cheong (epee), Draper Dayton (foil), Eugene Ko (saber), Neo Kounalakis (saber).
Women
First team: Haley Koo (foil).
Second team: Charlotte He (saber), Hanna Lee (epee), Sofia Raso (foil).
Honorable mention: Madeline Liao (foil), Joy Yun (saber).
