CHERRY HILL, N.J. – Stanford lightweight rowing completed its time at The Knecht Cup with the top finish in the lightweight 8+ race to bring home the Danielle Kousoulis Memorial Trophy alongside a fifth-place finish in the lightweight 4+ Grand Final.
Saturday saw the Cardinal race in the lightweight 4+ prelims heats. Stanford finished with a time of 8:08.74, good for fourth in its heat and seventh overall.
With its result Saturday, Stanford's 4+ boat was slated to compete in Sunday's petite final, but due to scratches from three boats, the Cardinal earned a spot to participate in the event's grand final. With the opportunity to compete for the 4+ trophy, Stanford finished two seconds faster than its preliminary heat mark in the grand final to finish fifth overall.
The highlight of Stanford's efforts at The Knecht Cup was the lightweight 8+ boat's first-place finish in the Danielle Kousoulis Memorial Trophy race. The Cardinal finished with a time of 6:42.11 and topped MIT, Boston University, and Radcliff for the victory.
Stanford next competes on its home course, hosting Princeton at Redwood Shores Saturday, April 16.
