HENDERSON, Nev. – No. 4 Stanford dominated the waters this weekend, winning each event the program competed in at the Pac-12 Invitational on Lake Las Vegas in Henderson, Nev.
The regatta featured both Pac-12 programs and other top rowing teams from around the country, including No. 3 Cal, No. 8 Washington, No. 12 USC, No. 18 Oregon State, RV Washington State, RV UCLA, No. 15 Univ. of Pennsylvania, No. 16 Southern Methodist University, No. 19 Alabama, RV Clemson, and RV Iowa. The Pac-12 Invitational gave all teams a chance to compete against both conference foes and other top-national programs in preparation for postseason competition.
Saturday saw the Cardinal race against USC, SMU and Penn, winning each effort by five seconds or more. Stanford also met Clemson in the 2V4 battle, finishing before the Tigers and USC by 18 or more seconds.
Stanford took on RV UCLA, RV Clemson and RV Iowa on Sunday, earning even more decisive victories on the final day of competition. In each of the four races the Cardinal entered, Stanford crossed the finish line ahead of its competitors by at least 11 seconds.
The Cardinal is back in action next weekend at the Big 12 Invite April 15-16 in Sarasota, Fla.
