SARASOTA, Fla. – Racing on the course of the 2022 NCAA Rowing Championships, No. 2 Stanford won all but three races entered while competing at the Big Ten Invitational April 15-16.
The Cardinal raced its five boats three separate times over the course of the two-day event. Stanford first raced its V8, 2V8, V4, and 2V4 against No. 7 Brown, No. 8 Ohio State, and RV Wisconsin, winning all four races. The Cardinal raced its 3V8 against the Badgers and No. 20 Indiana, decisively winning the race by a 17-second margin.
Friday afternoon, the Cardinal met No. 10 Duke, No. 17 Rutgers, and Michigan State, once again earning victories in the V8, 2V8, V4, and 2V4 races. Taking on the Scarlet Knights, Minnesota, and Iowa in the 3V8, Stanford captured a 10-second win.
The weekend ended Saturday morning with the Cardinal competing against No. 6 Michigan, No. 8 Ohio State, and No. 12 Virginia. Stanford earned wins over the Wolverines in its V8 and 2V8 matchups but fell to the No. 6 ranked team in the nation in the V4, 2V4, and 3V8 races. The Cardinal beat the Cavaliers in all but the 3V8 race and topped the Buckeyes in all four races (Ohio State did not compete in the 3V8 race).
Stanford wraps up its regular-season efforts April 30, hosting California in the Big Row at Redwood Shores.
