LOS ANGELES – Behind a career-high 24 kills from Kendall Kipp, No. 8 Stanford fought back from 0-2 to defeat USC, 23-25, 21-25, 25-22, 25-23, 15-9, Wednesday, at the Galen Center.

Kipp hit .413 on the night and registered three aces, four digs and matched her season-high with six blocks. Her 24 kills included the 1,000th of her career, becoming the 21st Cardinal player to reach the milestone.

Stanford (19-4, 14-1) won its 13th consecutive match and its 11th straight over USC (18-8, 10-5 Pac-12). The Cardinal hit .331 as a team, while the Trojans posted a .277 clip.
 


Freshman outside hitter Elia Rubin finished with 15 kills, five digs and an ace, while redshirt junior outside hitter Caitie Baird added 12 kills, four digs, two blocks and an ace. Baird served four straight points early in the decisive fifth set to give the Cardinal an early 6-1 advantage.
 


Setter Kami Miner controlled the offense with 52 assists and had seven digs, three kills and a pair of aces. Libero Elena Oglivie registered a match-high 20 digs. The junior has tallied double-digit digs in 21 consecutive matches, including four 20-plus outings.
 


Middle blocker McKenna Vicini matched her season-high with eight blocks and had four kills. Defensive specialist Taylor Beaven posted four digs and a season-best two assists, while freshman Kelly Belardi had three digs and an ace. Freshman Anna Pringle came off the bench in the second, third and fourth sets.

USC was without Skylar Fields, who leads the Pac-12 in kills per set. Jordan Wilson led the team with 21 kills, while Emilia Weske had 15 on a .458 hitting percentage.

Stanford closes out the week on Saturday at UCLA. The match is slated for 4:30 p.m. and will be streamed on Pac-12.com.
