STANFORD, Calif. – Led by its pin hitters, No. 9 Stanford earned its first home win of the season, defeating No. 17 Washington, 24-26, 25-17, 25-20, 25-21, Friday, at Maples Pavilion.
Stanford (7-4, 2-1 Pac-12) picked up its fourth victory over a ranked opponent this season as the win marked the 300th of head coach Kevin Hambly's career.
The Cardinal hit .338 as a team and registered 14.0 blocks and a season-best 67 digs. Washington (10-3, 2-1 Pac-12) turned in a .235 attack percentage and finished with 3.0 blocks and three aces.
Opposite Kendall Kipp posted a team-high 19 kills on .312 hitting and totaled seven digs, four blocks and two aces. Outside hitter Caitie Baird posted her second straight double-double, matching her season-high with 17 kills and a career-best 18 digs.
Freshman outside hitter Elia Rubin had a career-high 17 kills on a .368 attack percentage to go with five digs, three blocks, three assists and an ace.
Setter Kami Miner recorded her team-best fourth double-double of the year with 49 assists and 13 digs. The sophomore also had four kills on seven errorless attempts, including a no-look over-the-shoulder on match point.

Redshirt junior middle blocker McKenna Vicini finished with six kills on .500 hitting and six blocks. Junior middle blocker Annabelle Smith, who made her third consecutive start for an injured Sami Francis, had a season-high seven blocks, two kills and two digs.
Libero Elena Oglivie collected 17 digs and four assists. She also had zero reception errors on 17 attempts. Freshman Kelly Belardi came off the bench and put down a pair of aces to go with two digs, while sophomore Taylor Beaven tallied three digs.

Washington was led by Claire Hoffman's match-high 20 kills and 13 digs. Sophomore Emoni Bush added 12 kills, while middle Marin Grote had 11 kills and two blocks. Stanford improved to 57-20 all-time against the Huskies, snapping a five-match skid.
Stanford is back in action on Sunday at Noon against Washington State on Pac-12 Network. In recognition of October's Breast Cancer Awareness Month, fans are encouraged to wear pink to show support.
