STANFORD, Calif. – Ending the weekend on a winning note, No. 24 Stanford men's tennis completed its weekend sweep with a 4-1 win over No. 39 Arizona State on Saturday afternoon.
The duo of Samir Banerjee and Filip Kolasinski scored a 7-5 doubles win on court two, but Arizona State pulled out a pair of victories to take a 1-0 lead in the match.
Arthur Fery tied the match at 1-1 with a 6-4, 6-2 win on court one. The win was his ninth this season in the first position, and his fifth over a ranked opponent. Nishesh Basavareddy gave Stanford the lead, 2-1, with a straight-set win over his own in the third position. The result gave him his team-leading 22nd singles victory of the year.
Banerjee came from behind for a three-set win to push the score to 3-1, while Filip Kolasinski rallied from a 5-1 deficit in his second set with six consecutive games to win 7-5 in the frame and 6-4, 7-5 in the match.
Stanford returns to action March 30 at BYU in its final non-conference tilt.
