LA JOLLA, Calif. – Taking the court in the final individual tournament of the regular season, Stanford sent three pairs to the Pacific Coast Doubles tournament this weekend at La Jolla Beach Tennis Club.
Samir Banerjee and Filip Kolasinski reached the event's semifinal round, tying for third with a 5-1 overall record. The duo knocked out a pair of non-collegiate teams, as well as pairs from Ball State, UC Santa Barbara and Pepperdine en route to the final day of action. The pair fell to a Nebraska duo in the semifinal round in two sets.
Nishesh Basavareddy and Aryan Chaudhary went 3-1 overall, defeating pairs from Redlands, Claremont-Mudd-Scripps and UC San Diego to earn a place in the round of 16. Anders Matta and Neel Rajesh ended the event in the round of 32 after going 2-1 with wins over Cal Lutheran and a non-collegiate pair in the round of 64.
The Cardinal returns home to take on No. 2 Texas on Thursday, March 9 at noon.
