DENTON, Texas - The Cardinal earned its first trophy of the 2023 postseason over the weekend, taking the MPSF crown for the second year in a row. It's also only the second year that the conference has sponsored Artistic Swimming, making Stanford the only MPSF Champions to ever lift the trophy.

The two-day meet began on Saturday with the solo, trio, and technical competitions. Lindi Schroeder repeated as the champion in the solo competition, winning the title by more than three points and with a score of 84.5750.

Schroeder also claimed the MPSF title in the duet, pairing up with freshman Yara Elian for gold. The duo recorded an 84.1000, topping their teammates Miko Begossi and Ivy Davis who earned second place with a score of 81.3750.

In the technical competition, Stanford claimed the five top spots, led by Nicole Goot in first place and a score of 84.0825. Elian took silver in the event while Emmanuella Tchakmakjian added a bronze finish. Schroeder took fourth followed by Miko Begossi in fifth.

The second day featured the trio and team competitions, both of which ended in Stanford gold medals. In the trio, Elian grabbed her third medal of the weekend and her second gold, teaming up with Miko Begossi and Ivy Davis to earn a score of 83.0500.

Incarnate Word finished in second in the event, but Stanford added a bronze finish from Goot, Schroeder, and Heinrich and a score of 81.2750. Audrey Nguyen, Emmanuella Tchakmakjian, and Yujin Chang combined to take fourth as well, while Emily Brieant, Natalie Greenfield, and Atira O'Neil finished in eighth.

The final event of the weekend, the team event, saw the Cardinal take another gold medal with the top score of 85.1750. Miko Begossi, Ivy Davis, Yara Elian, Nicole Goot, Hailee Heinrich, Ava Jih-Schiff, Audrey Nguyen, and Emmanuella Tchakmakjian made up Stanford's first place team.

The Cardinal returns to action in a few weeks at Collegiate Nationals from March 23-25 as the team looks to claim it's second national title in three years.
