REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – No. 13 Stanford men's rowing swept the weekend, winning all six races against No. 17 Oregon State, No. 20 Temple and No. 25 Santa Clara at Redwood Shores.
"It was great to finally see the squad on the racecourse against outside competition," said the Farwell Family Director of Men's Rowing. "We do so much training in preparation for racing, but nothing can simulate being out there in the competitive moment on race day. I thought our Varsity and Second Varsity crews handled themselves well, and we were happy to come away with wins in all races. More importantly we gained a lot of information about how the crews perform in racing that we will use to inform our preparation towards the Pac-12 Invitational and ultimately the championship portion of our season. We still have quite a bit of work to do, and next weekend will be a big early test for the team."
The Cardinal started the weekend with a 13 second victory over Oregon State in the varsity eight. Stanford continued this energy against Santa Clara with a 24 second win margin in the varsity eight, and wrapped up the weekend with a nine second margin over Temple.
Stanford will return home next weekend to host the Pac-12 Invite on Saturday and Sunday.
